This past weekend we celebrated Jack’s birthday by throwing a party at Hat Creek Burger Co in Westlake. We’ve been fans of Hat Creek for some time. They have amazing beer on tap including dollar draft days every Thursday, they source most of their food locally, and you’ll see them at various community and charity events doing their part to support Austin.
Several months ago we noticed a family throwing a birthday party there and I decided to find out more about what they offer for birthdays. As usual I was impressed by how flexible they were and how much they were willing to do!
We decided to throw a typical birthday party and Jack was more than thrilled to tell everyone that would listen if they’d like to go to his birthday party because “I’ll have burger, and fries, and a playground.” His three favorite things.
Hat Creek offers a variety of birthday options. You can reserve a company outing, a birthday similar to Jack’s, or the ever famous – PJ Party! The only request they make is that you schedule your big event around their slower hours so that they can better help you and your guests. You can create a tab for your entire guest list or ask that they limit the tab to kids only. Make it a fun themed event for your kiddos with pancakes and pjs or for the adults with burgers and brew!
We were amazed by how efficient the party was, and how well we were taken care of. I highly recommend hosting your own birthday bash there.
Aside from picking the perfect place I knew I was going to have to make sure our cake and cookies were local. I know that picking up a cake from our local HEB is an option but I tend to be pretty picky with cakes and I knew I wanted to keep it Austin local. Magnolia Lee Baking and Sugar Art came to mind and I was so happy with this decision. She never fails to impress me with how artistic and creative her work looks and then of course, when I have the chance to taste her cakes – I’m always floored. So I knew I had to work with her. She made the best cake for Jack’s robot themed birthday party!
The last way we decided to celebrate was by adding some face painting from Epic Body Paint. Owned by a local mom and artist I couldn’t wait to see the faces of kiddos running around with her amazing skill plastered on their happy little faces. I was particularly impressed with the amazing butterflies and puppy dogs she produced. (this wasn’t a robot exclusive event. lol) I highly recommend hiring Emily for your next event.
To end Jack’s celebration and to kick start my own Hat Creek Burger Co has offered to host a Perfect PJ’s Party for one lucky winner, on them!! The contest will end on Monday, the 30th and all you have to do is make sure you like Jack’s Mom in Austin, like Hat Creek Burger Co., and tag a friend on this Facebook post pinned to the top! Good luck to everyone that enters!!
